Why photography?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a camera in hand (I know so cliché photographer of me!). In elementary school it was a tiny digital camera that I took to concerts and silly photos with friends. In high school I upgraded to a DSLR when I found an interest in nature and landscape photography. Then finally in 2019 when I began Glass Rose Productions, I got my Sony mirrorless camera that I know and love today!

When I look back on photos, the posed school photos might look prim and proper, but the photos that bring memories to life for me, are the ones that were captured during genuine moments.

I apply this to portrait sessions with my clients. Rather than posing your family precisely, in the perfect backdrop, and asking you to say cheese, I let your kids lead the session. If they want to throw rocks in the lake instead of standing still and smiling for a portrait - we embrace that! Let’s throw rocks together and see who can throw the furthest! Or if they are stuck to you like glue and feeling camera shy, let’s capture that. We’ll get some adorable, snuggly, photos because one day your little one will grow up and you will cherish the time when they were attached at your hip!
